I am vegan for nearly a decade.
At the very begining I was horrible at cooking, and the only veg substitutes I could find at the shops were dry soy chunks and powdered non-vegan soy milk...
However after all this time everything got better.
From a poor cook I became a great one, and a constant search for new flavours turned me into a real vegan gastronaut.
In 2012 I started a blog about vegan food and lifestyle, called "Ką valgo veganai" (What do vegans eat?). I was one of the first (if not the very first) blog for vegan recipes in Lithuanian. In three years my blog grew bigger and more popular: not only I write the recipes of food I make, but I have also issued a zine for vegan recipes and the first Lithuanian poster on vegan nutrition. Another important part of my blog is the reviews of vegetarian/vegan/veg-friendly restaurants and vegan products. However, I got the feeling that the blog grew so big that it needs to "reproduce" and give a birth to a new project. The idea of my first blog was to write about what and where to eat vegan in Lithuania, but I am out of my country so often!

From my late teenagehood I fell in love with traveling. From short trips to neighboring cities and countries, to big travels for weeks or months.
I always try to travel with a small budget and experience more than tourist destinations. So I always surf the couches! Everytime it is possible I cook a vegan dinner for my hosts. I also enjoy couchsurfing food parties when everynone prepares something (preferably some national/regional meal).
So some years ago I stumbled upon an idea of traveling cooks. "That's a great deal" - I thought at that time. And then - forgot everything...
A couple of days ago I have celebrated my birthday which marked the day I lost all my youth-discounts. It made me thinking of things I always wanted to do but for some reason didn't.

Traveling vegan foodie!
Yes, the time is great and the time is now to finally start doing it!

So this spin-off of my original blog is dedicated to vegan food and traveling. Here I will be sharing my travel stories and vegan experiences in different countries and different cities, reviews of vegan products and veg/veg-friendly restorants all over the world.
I believe that all the vegans, passionate travelers and gourmands will appreciate my stories and use the tips for their own vegan adventures.

I will try to be more courageous to make my dreams come true. And this blog is my first attempt to become a well-known vegan travel writer / presenter. Wish me the best luck, and if you want to help my dreams come true, check out how can you do it!
